I've done a child's park at night, makes it difficult because my Discovery does not have a backlit screen so a flashlight is a must (obviously)

Hi rechied613 - welcome to the forum. If you like night detecting I highly recommend the Energizer Hard Case Headlight - there is a review of it in the "Reviews" forum. I tried mine for the first time last week and it makes night detecting a sinch. Plenty of light and easy to see the display on my discovery and the ground for searching and digging.

I like it, less crowds. Just make sure you stay away from schools or churches at night, they have a law "tresspass at night"

do it all the time. head lamp for my head and headlamp around the machine. the one around the machine needs to be able to angle down towards the coil.
with this setup I can see where I look, and also the coil and soil are illuminated
