Hi guys
Here in Uk we have a fantastic history and consequently plenty of coins/artefacts In the ground. What sort of coins/artefacts are turning up in Canada ? Basically what age range of coins have you guys been finding, how old is your coinage? Are detectorist's finding really old coins and artefacts? I'm just interested in what detectorist's in Canada are turning up really.

So far, older coins are rare and more modern are of course plentiful. I guess it depends where you look. Personally my ability to travel is limited so I hunt the neighborhood and occasionally where public transit will take me. Generally our history only goes back a couple hundred years so old coins = 1800's generally. I'm happy to find anything with silver content. Enjoy your long history and it's treasures, I'm envious

My oldest is a 1815 shilling other than that mostly 1800's
