Was very hopeful sweeping early 1900's site. Didn't turn out as expected... may have been hunted prior to my visit. Had discrimination turned way low and dug up every signal which landed many bottle caps and PT. Amongst the best finds are an old buckle, a square nail and a horseshoe. The two pennies are modern. Surveying the vicinity for other opportunities. BTW, I'm new to the forum and to metal detecting. I'm using a Discovery 2200 which is not very reliable for pinpointing and identifying metals but I'm also using a Garrett Propointer which helps with the recovery time.
Update: Here are the finds from a previous hunt on other sections of the site. Shells were not uncommon finds. Cool one is the unused slug and casing. Unfortunately the middle of the casing disintegrated as I retrieved it (old paper bullets?). Attachments:

Hello dicro, That's some good digging. One of those pull tabs or bottle caps could of been GOLD something. So keep on digging and better luck next time.
