Great post "D", wasn't sure about the Delta 4000 being waterproof at the base, now I know...it is!

Thanks Kalpoon, I would consider the Delta 4000 border line between entry level and mid range. It kind of sits in both camps. I can't say for certain but I think most metal detectors these days have water proof coils. Teknetics, Bounty Hunter and Fisher all come from the same manufacturer and should have water proof coils.

well I got my bounty 2200 ,,just got back found 13 items,, within an hour,, im pretty pleased with it,,now I have a M.D I'll be posting along you guys,, and look forward to hunt with you too,alls good ,, I;m a happy hunter,,:-)

Congrats! The 2200 is a nice machine, I have had the 3300 for a few years and it lived on the floor in the back seat of my car for a couple years so they are well built Did you manage to get the sale price at Canadian Tire? Welcome to the obsession lol

Glad to hear about the bounty hunter. My wife got me one for Christmas. I guess she wants me off the youtube videos so she can use the computer.
I'm in the Perth area and ideas out this way. I figure the Tay and Rideau river banks will be my starting ground.
